AGARWOOD BOUYA

Bouya agarwood oil comes from Gaharu Buaya, a type of wood obtained from the genus Aetoxylon species. The name is thought to have originated from the term Buaya which means "Crocodile" in Indonesia. This pure perfume is made from selected resin wood of the Aetoxylon Sympetalum species. This oil is produced through the steam distillation method, has a yellowish white color. Botanical:

Gaharu bouya (Aetoxylon Sympetalum) is a tree that grows up to 50 meters with a trunk diameter of approximately 60 cm. this plant takes a minimum of 10 years to fully grow. The wood is one of the most valuable woods in the world. Oleoresin obtained from this tree is very fragrant and the most expensive of all. Various species can grow in Indonesia (Sumatra, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, Papua, and Sumbawa). The plant's type, variety, geographical location, tree part, length of time of infection (sap comes out when the stem is injured), and harvesting and processing methods affect the aromatic quality of gaharu essential oil.

A brief History:

Agarwood Bouya is known as Oudh, Oud, Agarwood, Agar, Eaglewood, Aloeswood and Agarwood. This tree is claimed to come from various parts of the world, including India, Malaysia, South China, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Cambodia.

Agarwood essential oil has been very important in cultural and religious practice since ancient times in various civilizations. Incense and perfumes made from agarwood oil are highly valued for their spiritual, luxurious, and aphrodisiac purposes. References are found in Hindu, Islamic, Christian, and Buddhist texts. Agarwood oil is traded internationally between producing countries namely Southeast Asia & the Tropics and consuming countries namely the Middle East.

Usage History:

Gaharu essential oil producers extract oil from the wood resin of the agarwood tree through a steam distillation process. During the process, the wood is immersed in water for 30 to 90 days then the wood is placed in a large steam boiler where the water evaporates with resin and accumulates in a condenser. Then the oil and water are separated. Agarwood is a tree that is highly respected in Islamic, Buddhist, and Hindu cultures. Gaharu essential oil contains stimulant, antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, aphrodisiac, tonic, carminative, antiastatic, astringent, antibacterial, antifungal.

Storage Instructions:

Store essential oils in amber bottles (dark in color). If the packaging used is an aluminum bottle, then transfer the essential oil from the aluminum bottle to a dark amber glass bottle. Store in a dry place and away from sunlight.
